“To get people to use Google+ the way Google imagines it, the company is working to make the benefits of using one primary Google identity too good to ignore.” That’s a quote from a post on CNN titled How Google+ is pushing its way into all Google products. Folks who have situated their accounts so that their G+ profile is the connecting hub are getting more sugar from Google than folks who have not done so. And folks who are active on G+ are getting the most sugar, not only from Google, but from followers.
G+ is a Ghost Town
If you’re still hanging on to the idea that G+ has no activity you need to wake up and get with the program. The adoption rate over the last year is staggering. It is now has the 2nd highest membership of any social platform and has more active users than Facebook.
My Clients Aren’t On G+
That’s another excuse you need to get over. Doesn’t matter if your clients are there or not. If you actually follow that line of thinking, you’re already behind your competition who has established a presence there and who is gaining all of the authority juice Google is doling out these days.
Most of my clients are not on G+ either and yet all of the perks I’m getting from the connected accounts have become the number one referral source of traffic to my site. More clients are finding me whether they’re on G+ or not. And that happened in less than three months. The benefits really are too good to ignore.
One Primary Identity
Your profiles are scattered all over the Web. Google could give you more credit for all of your activity on them if you would make it easy for Google to do. That takes creating a verifiable digital identity and linking all of your other online presences to it. That identity is your profile on G+.
Blow up the Boulder
The big obstacle standing in the way of most folks creating a single G+ identity and making it the connecting hub of all the other places they post content is that they have a multiple Google Account mess. The next big obstacle is that they have no idea what a set of good connections looks like.

I’m on a mission to help more folks get busy on G+ and get all the Google sugar they can because I’m in the business of helping folks become confident, successful site owners. G+ plays a key role in that success.
