Listen to the podcast
I hope all of my U.S. listeners had a super holiday weekend and welcome to Muesday and getting back into the swing of things.
It’s the last quarter of the year. How are you doing with your New Year’s resolutions and goals? I’ve pretty much met mine so far. But, I need help with the last one.
Hiring a Business Coach
I’ve been telling y’all that I’m dedicated to getting sales funnels done this year. That, and landing page copy are things I’ve always struggled with. So, I retained the services of a business coach that specializes in them.
Sometimes it just takes a qualified set of eyes from the outside to help you see where the problems are and get you going on the right track.
Eyes Opened to How Bad Sites Still Sell
In my search for a coach, I came across the most gosh awful websites. It prompted me to write a blog post and I’ll be publishing it later next week.
I finished all of the tutorials for the new FireTalk Course over the weekend and I hope you got in on the Grand Opening special pricing.
There are some awesome marketing and visibility opportunities on that platform. I’ve been making money with it for a few weeks now.
There are also some proposed changes and improvements coming to FireTalk, and I’ll be keeping the course updated when those role out.
Speaking of improvements, Facebook Live has some new features for recording by phone and I’m updating that course now with them.

That’s all the news around here. Let’s jump into this week’s tips.
It’s a sad day for all of you who use ManageWP for updating and backing up multiple client sites. It was recently acquired by GoDaddy. And they have ruined every other service they’ve taken over, including MadMimi and the host, Media Temple, who they brought in to give them some expertise in managed WordPress hosting.
I didn’t use ManageWP or other services like that, so I don’t have a recommended alternative for you.
Do you use something like this? Please feel free to leave a comment for us here or wherever you see this post online with your suggestion for an alternative. It takes a village.
Content Marketing Tips
At the top of the show I mentioned the time of year. For me, September marks the beginning of my busy season. And that’s true of a lot of businesses.
Are you making the most of the time of year or news or what’s trending in your content marketing?
There’s a nice post about it on the Convince and Convert blog on the buyer mindset this time of year and how you can capitalize on it.
Speaking of capitalizing on the back to school theme, and making the most of engagement marketing, here’s a post that did with a title that certainly caught my attention.
The focus is to help your viewers to engage with you and move beyond being just a passive reader of your content.
The new Spiffy Up Your Site Challenge is a good example of this type of engagement marketing as well.
And here’s a post from that site that lists all the content post types that really drive more traffic to your site and are easy to produce.
- Numbered List Posts
- How-To Posts
- Expert Q&As
- Success Stories
- Product Releases
- Industry News
I do every one of these on BlogAid, plus weekly roundups, like this Tips Tuesday post, which wasn’t on the list. I guess that’s because they are more time consuming to produce.
And note that they asked a question in their title, which is another good way to get a click.
CloudFlare has been called out for assisting pirate sites. Don’t worry. It will probably be a bogus lawsuit. They don’t check who their clients are up front, and even if they did, they don’t hold site data in their cache for long. It’s a pass-through service. So, if you hear news about this, don’t jump ship looking for another CDN. It’s okay.
That’s a wrap for this week’s Tips Tuesday.
